The A4 Avant is Audi’s latest premium estate, taking on Mercedes-Benz’s C-Class estate and BMW’s 3-Series Touring. It’s lighter, but more rigid, than before – improving handling and safety, as well as aiding fuel consumption. Class-leading boot space ranges from 490 litres, with the seats up, to 1430 litres with them folded down. A4 Avant’s lengthy wheelbase improves weight distribution, and therefore handling, and gives passengers plenty of legroom. Buyers can select between two petrol and three diesel engines from launch. Audi are taking orders for SE and S line trim now, with deliveries in June. Prices range from £22,590 to £30,290.
